Moussaka

Ini lagi satu resipi yang diajar oleh MIL Ruby. Sepatutnya bahagian atasnya tidak bewarna coklat tetapi golden. Tetapi saya terlebih2 letak serbuk lada hitam sampai jadi macam tu. Moussaka ni sangat sedap ! Dia ni ala-ala lasagna but asal dari Greek. Sape suka terung kena cuba resipi ni. Sapa yang tak suka terung pun boleh suka makan makanan ni :)

Sukatan ni sangat banyak ye. Kalau nak menjamu tetamu yang ramai boleh la ikut sukatan di bawah. Else sila buat separuh sukatan sahaja.

MOUSSAKA

Ingredients

5-6 eggplants besar-besar
5-6 potatoes6 medium onions (diced)
1 kg of minced beef
1 tin americana tomato sauce +  tomato sauce or 2 kotak tomato puree
Capsicum (green, yellow, red)and/or regular red/green chillies
1 WHOLE garlic (crushed)
2 teaspoon of black pepper powder
2 teaspoon of coriander powder
Pinches of salt

Steps

  1. Cut eggplants lengthwise and fry, leave aside.
  2. Fry potatoes cut in cubes, leave aside.
  3. Fry diced onions till limp, slightly brown.
  4. Add minced beef, reduce heat, cover the pan and wait for beef juice to come out.
  5. Add tomato puree, a cup of water and wait till it boils.
  6. Add capsicum of various colors.
  7. Add garlic, black pepper, coriander powder and salt.
  8. Once cooked, transfer everything into a baking casserole and layer with fried potatoes and egg plants.
  9. Top with bechamel sauce.
  10. Bake at 220C until sauce browns.

BECHAMEL SAUCE ALA RUBY

Ingredients

Item A
2 tablespoon of ghee
6 tablespoons of wheat flour
2 tablespoon black pepper kasar
4 teaspoon of salt (atau secukup rasa)

Item B
1 cup of fresh milk
2 whole eggs

Steps:

  1. Mix items A in a pot and put on low heat n wait till the ghee melts into the flour.
  2. Add 1 cup of water and whisk. Keep stirring with whisk to avoid lumps, then add milk and the eggs and continue stirring till it boils.
